Dr. Humberto Fernandez-Miro, MD

Dr. Humberto Fernandez-Miro has been practicing medicine in Miami for more than 25 years. Over that time he's built a career that spans general medicine, clinical research, and aesthetic medicine, which is a combination you don't often find in one physician.

He started his medical education at the Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de La Habana, graduating in 1979, and has been practicing in Florida ever since. He's board certified in family medicine and licensed in the state of Florida.

In his clinical practice, his focus is family medicine with a heavy emphasis on prevention. He tends to look at what's driving a health issue rather than just treating the symptom in front of him, and that approach has kept patients coming back to him for decades.

Research is a major part of his career. He serves as Medical Director and Principal Investigator at Global Health Clinical Trials, running studies on conditions including COPD, asthma, diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, and neurological disorders. During COVID he worked directly with Pfizer, Gilead, and Shionogi on treatment and prevention trials. He has also done significant work in stem cell therapy and regenerative medicine in the Miami area.

He currently serves as Medical Director at the Renova Aesthetic Institute, where he combines general medicine with weight loss programs, men's health, and cosmetic treatments. Not many physicians have put in serious time across all three of those areas, and it shows in how he talks about weight loss. His patients tend to stay with him for years, which says more about his approach to care than any credential does.
